Your Affiliate Marketing List Messages

06/13/2009

Getting the balance right between building a trusting relationship with your list member, and pitching a product to them, can be difficult to master.
Here are steps to crafting a successful email newsletter message to help your internet marketing campaign:
1. Identify affiliate products that solve a problem or address a need that your have identified.
2. When you have decided on your affiliate product, you need to deliver a message that really focuses on the need that the product will solve. For example if your product is about a weight loss diet, you might say something like, "There's been a lot of talk about how low-carb diets can help you shed those unwanted pounds..." and then format the rest of your message like a sales pitch: identify a problem, list the obstacles to solving that problem, show how the product addresses that problem.
3. An alternative to step #2 is to do a review of the affiliate product you are promoting. The most important thing in a review is to be honest. Be sure not to cover up any flaws in the product for the sake of the sale. If you sacrifice your credibility for the sake of a few short-term sales, you lose long-term earning potential. If the people buy the product, great. If not, they will appreciate your honesty and be more likely to buy a product that you review well or that you pitch like in step #2.
4. After you've chosen between steps #2 and #3, it is time to add valuable information. In your product pitch or review, make sure that you spotlight the information or advice to be delivered. The reader of these messages should not feel like they are slogging through an extended advertisement. They should believe that you are delivering real, useful information and that the product mention is a 'by-the-way' placement.
5. When you have completed that message, consider how it can be used in the future. For example, if you wrote a message about that low-carb diet, how could that apply to any other future campaigns? Maybe you have a niche that is devoted only to cooking (not weight-loss through cooking). The message could be slightly retooled and sent out again to that different niche list.
6. Go back to step #1, and start another message!

Compiling a Good Mailing List Through Downloads

05/02/2009

A mailing record is the lifeblood of your online business. The vintage adage "the currency is in the list" will not be factual enough -- if you had a focused at record of prospects to convey each time you have a new merchandise, you will be masterful to save more of effort by exchanging it to your residing record of focused at prospects.

You can truly build up a focused at record of prospects that are included in your wares by recommending an applicable download on your website. For demonstration, let's take a stare at a very good demonstration -- apple.com. When you download the free iTunes and Quicktime programs from their placement, they will inquire you to consignment up in an optional label and internet note pattern in rank that they can move ahead you flaunts on components of tunes that you can pay for by -- assess where -- iTunes!

In certainty, you do not need to offer such a "heavyweight" download for instance a full-feature programs like iTunes. You can request prospects similarly well with some worth freebies for instance a not hard report, a free wallpaper, and so on. The noteworthy thing is that your download flaunts enough worth for the outlook to be enthusiastic to finish his/her own internet note address to get it.

However, slapping simultaneously a not hard download and putting a binding on your website won't be enough to request coached prospects. You will have to do some allocation in alignment for your lead-generating means to work well for you.

How Can You Rip Off Someone Website?

04/30/2009

I admit it. I've "ripped off" websites. In fact, I specifically have a place on the website planning worksheet I use for clients to indicate what websites they want to steal from. And I'm here to tell you how to do it without getting caught.

A brief disclaimer: I don't advocate or encourage directly stealing designs, images or text from other people's websites. Don't do it. It's not nice. For more detail go to: www.onlinepublishingsite.com.So how can you rip off someone's website?

Recently a client was in a website planning meeting with me. "What other websites do you like?" I asked him.

"Tim," he said, "I want my website to look exactly like this website," and he typed in the address of a website into my web browser.

"Err, okay," I intelligently responded. Meanwhile, I was thinking to myself, "I can't just steal the design of the website." So I told him, "Let's make a list of what you like about this website. Then I can make sure I don't forget anything."

So here's how you steal from other people's websites without getting caught. First, make a list of 5-10 websites you like, and somehow want to emulate. As you're making the list, jot down anywhere from 2-10 things you like about that site.

Next, break that list up into two different lists. First copy down (and number) the websites you like. Then, on a separate piece of paper, copy the list of the things you liked, but put them in order of importance to you. Do not put the website they're from. Rather, use the number off the other list to indicate what site they're from.

Now, unless you're giving this to a designer, throw away the original list. For more help visit to: www.oversightsystem.com.Seriously. Don't refer back to it. If you are giving it to a designer to actually design the site, that's fine, but give that person the two new lists as well.

It may be that, like my client, there's really only one website you like. Do the same thing. Make a list of the attributes you like about that site, then make a new, prioritized list. It will probably still strongly resemble the original site, but it will not be a direct rip off of their design.

Here's rule number one. In the designing process, do not look at websites you liked. And the second rule is this: occasionally break rule number one.

You should definitely not constantly look at the other websites while you're designing. However, you will occasionally ask yourself something like, "How did they do #5 on my list?" In that case, it's okay to take a quick glance at that other site. But look at it, then close that browser window.

These are the methods I used when designing my client's website that I described to you. At the end, I looked at both sites, and showed them to my client. I was happy with how different they were, and he was happy with how similar they were. So the process works for me.
